Warm Heads & Hearts — New Song Community Church Branch
Warm Heads and Hearts volunteers meet throughout the year, on Saturdays from 10am-2pm, two weeks each month from September through February, and once each month from March through August. We meet in rooms 6 & 7 of the New Song Community Center located at 220 NE Russell Street, Portland, OR 97212 The entrance faces NE Russell Street, and there is on-site parking. Donate your time as a volunteer with our team:
- Trace patterns
- Cut Materials
- Sew hats, or crochet/knit scarves, either on, OR off-site. Don’t know how? We can teach you!
- Deliver donations and retrieve receipts, OR start a branch of WHH to serve your community.
Don’t have time to volunteer? You can donate the following items:
- Donate NEW, fleece. One yard will make 9 adult hats, and we can use pieces as small as 1ft x 2ft. Joann Fabrics offers sales year-round.
- Donate NEW, 100% acrylic yarn of Medium to Super Bulky weight. WHH cannot accept wool. Thank you.
- WHH cannot accept any materials that have been exposed to cigarette smoke or pet hair. Thank you.

Do you know someone who could put a gift of warmth to use?
We donate to community service organizations, shelters, families, individuals, etc.
If you would like to receive a donation of hats and scarves a receipt will be requested.
